  • Does insurance cover our residents' apartments?

    There are some waivers and assistance programs available in Indiana that could help with costs. Contact us for more information.

  • Is smoking allowed?

    Melrose Assisted Living is a non-smoking community.

  • Does Melrose allow pets?

    We only allow cats and service dogs at Melrose Assisted Living.

  • What are the qualifications for Melrose?

    Residents must be 55 years of age or older. We also require residents to require less than 24 hours of comprehensive care.

  • What is the difference between assisted living and a nursing home?

    Assisted living communities provide daily support with activities such as bathing, dressing, and medication management while allowing residents to maintain independence. 


    Nursing homes offer more comprehensive medical care and supervision for residents with serious health conditions or disabilities that require 24-hour assistance and monitoring.

  • What do I bring when I move in?

    We welcome you to bring personal items to decorate your space, such as furniture, decorations, bedding, and anything else that will bring you comfort.

  • Are the social programs mandatory?

    We do not require residents to participate in the social programs.

  • Can I bring my car?

    Yes, cars are allowed on the premises. We also offer transportation services for those without a car or driving privileges.
